Adrian Clarke tells Arsenal which Brighton player to buy next

Arsenal seem to have identified Brighton as their talent pool. After signing Ben White for £50 million and seeming to get value for their money, Arsenal seem to have a soft spot for Brighton players.

In the winter transfer window, Arsenal had plans to complete a double swoop from Brighton with a move for Leandro Trossard and Moises Caicedo. A move for Trossard went through, but Caicedo fell through.

While we wait to see if Arsenal will go back for the Brighton midfield engine, another Brighton star, Kaoru Mitoma, has established himself as an Arsenal transfer option. A number of reports claim that the Japanese dribble king is being pursued by a number of top clubs, including Arsenal.

Adrian Clarke, weighing in on the Brighton man’s future, only sees him moving to the Emirates, as he told the FPL Podcast, saying, “I think there’s more chance of Mitoma maintaining this level of form than Solly March.

“Mitoma would be my pick, and I think he’s destined for a bigger move, probably to Arsenal like all of the other Brighton players. I think Mitoma will end up at one of the bigger clubs in the country, he looks like a real player.”

Brighton players must look at the likes of White and Trossard flourishing at Arsenal, and probably decide that’s where they should go after Brighton.

Imagine Arsenal completing a Caicedo and Mitoma double swoop, Arsenal could be formidable on all fronts

    1. I get where you are coming from but even getting their head scouting chief might not turn our the same for us..
I do think these things fo in cycles.

Back in the day it was Leeds, West Ham with the best youth scouts.

Then Arsenal under Wenger. Wenger and his scouting team were were absolutely amazing back then when it came to unearthing potential talent.

Then I also remember Southampton took over for a bit.

Then Leicester City also had their time. Ended up winning the title and FA Cup. And this time we Poached their chief scout but I don’t think that worked out well for us.

And now it’s Brighton’s turn. They are turning out talent and getting amazing transfers fees for it.

I bet you next 3-5 years another smaller club will show up brimming with similar potential talents like Leed, West Ham, Arsenal, Southampton, Leicester and Brighton have done at a given time.

Looking at it, these cycles become a bit like a lottery in my opinion.

  1. We’ve got too many players for the left wing and CDM positions, so I don’t think we’ll sign them

If Saliba and Holding leave, we’d probably sign a new CB

  2. We now have an abundance of wingers , Nelson the winger that clinched the winner in the Boumouth classic is banging on the door.

The most likely target got to be the Caicedo kid, Lee Dixon gives this story legs as was carried in the Mirror and Football London 16th and 17 respectively

    1. With Jorginho and Elneny given a 1 year contract extension
I doubt we will sign a DM in the summer
There is this ASL on loan at Palace

      1. Those two are aging players , Arsenal has to strengthen this area and I won’t be surprised if two midfielders are added, a powerful box to box and a commanding defensive midfielder.

  3. Too bad that BHA can’t afford to hang onto these brilliant players they keep turning out. The Amex may be a lovely little stadium, but it does not generate the cash in ticket sales etc to support a PL team without selling some of its most prized assets.
It looks like Mitoma will bring in a nice little pile to keep Tony Bloom cheerful for a while until he sells his next star. Shame really, as I’d love to see BHA achieve some sort of success.

  4. One club you defo don’t mind giving money too for their star players is Brighton. What a well run club from top to bottom plus play some great exciting football in England with players they bought for button’s. Under diff managers their standards have maintained, if not got better, after losing their main man in Potter and quite a few stars along the way esp to us and Cucurella to Chelsea.

If their owner would at least try and keep them especially where there status is in England being a Top10 team no doubt in the country.

  5. I really like Mitoma and he has been a revelation for Brighton this season but I think we need to set our sights a little higher.
