Chelsea now has a huge advantage over Arsenal in the race for Caicedo

Chelsea’s interest in Moises Caicedo could potentially give them an advantage over Arsenal in the race to sign the Ecuadorian midfielder at the end of the season.

During the January transfer window, Arsenal had multiple bids for Caicedo rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion. They are expected to revive their pursuit of the player now that the season has concluded and they are making plans for the upcoming campaign.

However, Chelsea has also maintained an interest in Caicedo and now finds themselves in a strong position to compete with Arsenal for his signature. According to The Guardian, Brighton is interested in signing Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill following his impressive loan spell with them last season. Chelsea could potentially use Colwill as a bargaining chip in their efforts to convince Brighton to sell Caicedo to them instead of Arsenal.

The competition between the two London clubs for Caicedo’s services suggests that his future destination remains uncertain, and it will ultimately depend on the negotiations between the clubs involved and the player’s own preferences.

Just Arsenal Opinion

Chelsea seems to have a good advantage over us, but the final decision will be down to the midfielder.

Caicedo might insist he wants to join a club that plays in the Champions League and the Blues cannot offer that to him right now.

We can, and it could make us his preferred suitor when both clubs table an offer for his signature.

Now the season is over, it’s time for the summer Arsenal quiz from our friends at Dublin Arsenal – It’s always a laugh and helps while away the time while we wait for Arsenal’s first signings to come in!

  1. We need Caicedo, Rice, Simons and Boey and our team will be complete for next campaign.
Arsenal must make an effort for these 4

  2. I don’t think so – no CL and they are already borderline FFP, they will have to sell before they can buy.

  3. I think currently as things are, and which are concerning Arsenal and Chelsea in this summer transfer window.
The issues concerned to Arsenal are currently looking they will have the upper hand than Chelsea will have this summer to sign Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. But of course if truly Arsenal still want to sign the Ecuadorian midfielder. After their missing out on signing him last winter transfer window.
Despite that money talks. And Chelsea are looking to have plenty of it than Arsenal are having. But nevertheless, Chelsea who will not be playing Ucl football next campaign due to their 12th placed finish in last Epl table. And of course their being on the periphery of the FFP ban. Are having two major predicament that are looking will hinder them from signing Caicedo this summer. Because their signing of the Dmf will attract big transfer fee to do it. Which if Chelsea spent before they sell reasonable to sign Caicedo. Will see FFP’s Red Flag being raised to stop them to not do Caicedo’s signing.
Therefore, in the race to sign Caicedo this summer between Arsenal and Chelsea. The time to do the signing is of the essence. And for this time of the essence reason. Arsenal should endeavour to beat Chelsea to the time of the essence to sign Caicedo this summer.
For, Chelsea could sell their Mount to Man Utd immediately this summer transfer window is opened.
So as to help themselves raise money to sign Caicedo.
However, Let Arsenal get smartest than Chelsea to sign Caicedo this summer by tabling their offer to sign him to Brighton earliest than Chelsea will summit to Brighton their own offer to sign the player.
And as it has been reported in the media. That Arsenal will sign a new top quality Cmf and Dmf this summer to bolster their midfield options next season. And moreso as Xhaka who looks set he could exit the club this summer leaves. So, if truly Arsenal will sign two new top quality midfielders this summer. I think in addition to their signing Caicedo this summer. Arteta and Edu should try by all possible means to sign Leicester’s James Maddison this summer and close their midfield signings for the summer window till next winter window.

  4. Why did he extend his contract if he is willing to leave. Maybe his agent advised him that he would be in a better position to negotiate personal terms with Arsenal having a higher benchmark as a starting point with the new wages he is already now earning, or maybe not!

  5. @Samuel.
Have you got a permanent glitch on your device? Nearly every time you post a comment it is duplicated. Been happening for a few years now of I am correct.
It’s no big deal but I am just curious.
    😊

  6. From what I have seen of Chelsea this season, Colwill is badly needed at Stamford Bridge.Looks a very cultured young centre back with a great future ahead of him.

    1. Sounds like saliba – maybe we should think about trying to sign him, if they’re considering selling.

  7. Arsenal will always dilly daly until their main targets are hijacked. Chelsea still has the pull to attract big prayers without the Champions League football, it all depends on project presented and incentives offered to both club and player including the agent. For these young but important players, they are no more looking to be promoted, but the long term project of a club and their offered package. Enzo, Ugarte, Nkunku etc are all coming to Chelsea without Champions League.

  8. It looks like Caicedo must be the backup choice should we fail to land Rice because I don’t understand why we haven’t gone straight back in for him we when after we went so hard in January and now it is said that they would accept around £75M for him. What’s Edu waiting for?

  9. No not so fast, Pochettino is a big fan of Colwil, he’s seen as an England international very soon,
