Pundit tips Arsenal man to be the flop of the season

Former Aston Villa player Gabby Agbonlahor has expressed his anticipation that Kai Havertz will be among the disappointing performers of the Premier League season.

Havertz has encountered mixed reactions from fans. While he made a significant impact for Chelsea in the 2021 Champions League final, opinions on his overall performance at Stamford Bridge vary among observers.

Despite his status as the hero of the Champions League final, Havertz’s transition to Arsenal has not immediately won over fans. In his first two appearances in an Arsenal shirt, he has yet to convince fans of his merit for the club.

This scepticism surrounding Havertz’s performances has led Agbonlahor to anticipate that he might struggle to meet expectations in the Premier League this season. Agbonlahor’s assessment reflects the prevalent sentiment that Havertz has yet to prove his worth to the Arsenal faithful.

He tells Talk Sport:

“For me, 65 million, I want a player who is going to boss a game, I want a player who is going to look like scoring a goal.

“When I watch him at Arsenal last season, he gets in people’s way, literally making it harder for his teammates to find space.

“He isn’t quick, not a prolific finisher, and he is not really great at getting on the ball and turning.

“So for me, if I am Emile Smith Rowe or other players in that Arsenal side, I am thinking, “gaffer c’mon I know you paid 65m for him, but you gotta give me a chance now”, so I think Havertz would be one of the flops of the season.”

Just Arsenal Opinion

Havertz has a big point to prove because there is hardly a fan or pundit who believes he was worth signing.

The German has done badly so far, but there is still more than enough time for him to prove he is a good player.

  1. “The German has done badly so far..”
    Really?

People say he is lazy, and we have the records out, Havertz has run the most distance out of any Arsenal player this season, with Declan Rice in the second posiyion.

I know that’s not a tally to prove his worth as a good player, but it’s enough to put end to all the opinions here that label him lazy, languid and disinterested. If people can miss such a simple thing as how much effort Havertz has been putting on the field, I can’t believe they are capable of even judging what he actually does.

And regarding this “pundit” who only wishes bad for Arsenal, I say let him revel in his wishful thinking.

  2. They say jelousy is a sad affliction it seems many people are jealous of Havertz playing for such a great club arsenal that they wish him to really fail Havertz is a good player i will bet on him this weekend to score and brovide an assist and that will kickstart his arsenal career, expect Havertz to always be in arsenal’s starting lineup not because he is arteta fevourite but because the kind of moviment and technical abilities that he provides to the team is much creater than what most people think of him.

  3. Why are you assuming this after two games?? It’s negative and not deserved. Every player has faults
but Kai is German and will bounce back and come good
in the long run. Lets support him meanwhile..

  4. This Havertz debate is so tiring, I mean there’s some who even judged him without kicking the ball.

  5. He’s performed just how I personally knew he would . Obviously 67 million does not buy you much these days .
He was never going to be some superstar signing for that money ,any one who as actually watched over the last 3 years knew what we were getting ,obviously you have the Arteta fan club that will give you the “oh but he was brilliant in Germany “ yea 4 years ago
    .
He will do a job obviously but for that money you would expect more,he will be given chances after chances even when he offers nothing more than his height to the in 4 headers per match .
If we had signed him for 20 million and as a back up then fair play ,but to push him into a squad and position that didn’t need an upgrade is ridiculous.

  6. With two PL games and make the prediction.

I don’t even know how a pundit (supposed to be an expert) to make any assumption or judgement just by two PL matches.

I’d say, Agbonlahor is a flop as a pundit.
Is he that desperate to get attention or need money to say something stupid?

    Expert my XXX

  7. Well it brings me back to Bergkamp signing for us by Brucie Rioch and i think if memory serve’s me well that it was 7 game’s before his 1st goal and the rest is history , so after 2 games to write anyone off is just fruity loopy to me.
It was a nice goal also against the saint’s im nearly sure.

  8. How appearances can be decieving is clear by the fact that Havertz has been the player who has run the most distance so far.

When watching games, if I was to guess, I would probably say it would be Rice, or Odegaard, or Martinelli, never in my mind I would have guessed Havertz. But it’s true. If I can miss such a simple thing, I can probably miss most things about Havertz play style.

To be fair, the Jury is still out, but the signs so far seem encouraging to me.
