Talksport pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor believes that Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale should contemplate a January departure from the club or risk missing out on the Euros with England following his demotion in favour of David Raya.
Speaking on Talksport Agbonlahor reckons that Ramsdale has to leave if he wants regular first-team football and to stand any chance of getting on the plane with England.

Ramsdale had a solid start to the season, starting in Arsenal’s first four Premier League matches. However, he has since found himself on the bench, watching from the sidelines during Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Everton and the 4-0 Champions League victory over PSV Eindhoven.
Raya, on a season-long loan from Brentford, has kept two clean sheets in his two games and looked assured in the Arsenal goal and may well have made the position his.
Ramsdale’s future at the Emirates remains uncertain, with his recent absence sparking speculation about a potential departure. Clubs such as Chelsea and Bayern Munich have reportedly expressed interest in signing him.

People need to calm down, Ramsdale could easily be back in goal against Tottenham and Mikel Arteta may well rotate the keepers as he has indicated.
The season is a long one with Arsenal in four competitions and Arteta should be trusted to manage the situation effectively.
It should also be noted that Gareth Southgate has no issue picking players who do not feature often for their clubs.

Any of the top half clubs shows an intrest in the Englishman will unsettles him.
Experience teaches wisdom, this can only ends one way in my opinion, but as fans we are selfish and cares not much about others, hence some finds it hard to understand the plight Ramsdale now finds himself in though it was not brought about by his making.

Whilst I have a good deal of sympathy for Ramsdale, who comes across as a lovely chap I am also of the opinion that in some way his plight as you put it, is of his own making. There were some lapses which must have made Arteta worry. If Raya turns out to be a better keeper then, so be it and either Ramsdale rises to the challenge or he moves on.
Sue, has Ramsdale been treated the same as say Haverz?
Im not bothered who plays, Raya or Ramsdale, Haverz or whoever but if there are players given different treatments for different reasons, it can cause problems. IF Raya and Haverz are better than any other player/players, im not bothered. I am bothered that each player deserves their place and owns it. The rest is called management. Ramsdale should not be comfortable in his position and he obviously isn’t now but nor should any other player.
All managers have their favourites. Their favourites should still be accountable, the same as every player. You need everyone to know there is fair competition for places. You cant drop one player for not performing and let another have many chances.
It’s difficult to answer that Reggie – purely because some players take time to develop and adjust to a new club. I’m not championing Havertz but neither did I hold out much hope for Vieira who has done better so far this season. I’m giving KH some wiggle room right now
You are right that managers prefer certain players and it doesn’t always seem logical to us supporters.
Like you, I don’t mind who plays just so long as they do the job properly. I’d only add that outfield players can be more easily mixed and matched – and subbed – whereas a goalie who has a dip in performance is a liability

I would have thought, to keep the equilibrium, you have to see a reason.
Again, it’s a tricky one. He had a couple of costly lapses last season, I felt. In the same way that in the endLeno put the wind up me. I listened to a bit of Martin Keown on the radio and he thought that Raya would keep his place largely due to keeping the proverbial clean sheet which boosted the confidence of the defence in front of him. It’s a tough call and I think that Arteta began to lose a bit of faith in Ramsdale. If it goes Pete Tong for Raya then Ramsdale needs to take his chance. Martinez did after Leno’s injury
Don’t disagree Sue but i doubt trust is something that Ramsdale has a lot of at the moment. I may be wrong but i think it HAS to work with Raya.
Sometimes Reggie, a manager who is fully determined to find an even better player than an already good one, will be criticised.
IMO wrongly , as he is only improving the team. And surely that is what the manager ought to be doing, all the time. This is not to say I dont rate Ramsdale highly , as I DO.
And I also believe MA does too. But if he believes Raya is better still, then surely he will pick him and ought,to pick him.
I dont see how any sensible fan can rationally argue against that way of choosing which player plays and which does not.
Nah, no problem, Ramsdale I’m sure is acceptable of the situation and as far as anyone knows could even start Sunday.
Every position has competition now and the keeper position is no different.
