Report – Balogun is set to leave Arsenal in 48 hours

Folarin Balogun’s potential move to AS Monaco appears to be swiftly progressing, with journalist Rudy Galetti asserting that the striker’s departure from the club could materialise within the next 48 hours.

Balogun has garnered significant interest from multiple clubs during this transfer window, with prominent teams such as Inter Milan, Chelsea, and even Tottenham exploring the possibility of securing his services.

However, it seems increasingly likely that Balogun will make the move to Monaco, as the Ligue 1 side has emerged as his primary and most serious contender.

Arsenal and Monaco have engaged in negotiations over an extended period, and Galetti has unveiled that Balogun’s move to return to France, where he demonstrated his prowess while on loan at Reims last season, is on the verge of completion.

According to Galetti, the final details of the agreement are the only remaining aspects to be finalised, and Balogun’s association with Arsenal is poised to conclude within the next 48 hours.

Just Arsenal Opinion

Balogun has been one of our finest academy players, but we have better options and the decision to sell him is simply the right one.

He did well in France last season, so Monaco will enjoy having him in their squad while we now have money to pursue other transfer subjects or keep in our account for other financial commitments.

  1. Done and almost dusted, Arsenal has reached an agreement with Manaco for the sale of Balogun, £34 mill, with achievable add ins to approximately £ 5 mills.

Reliable sources confirm a very significant sell on clause is ironclad in the deal.

  2. The fee looks a little underwhelming reported as 30 + 10 euros but that significant sell on clause is key here. Monaco are one of the best seller club if balogun explodes over there they will sell him for a even bigger fee which means even more money more us.

Also helps if we decide to buy him back
E.g 25% sell on, biggest bid is 80m, we only need 60m to match it. Cut the initial fee we got for him and basically paying 20 something for a much better balogun.

  3. You will hear by the next transfer window clubs bidding for Balogun and Monaco will value him at £80 to 95 million this is just another young player who should not have been let go.

  4. Selling Balogun so late in the transfer window and leaving Arsenal with next to no time to sign a replacement – unless of course it is just balancing the books.

  5. All the talk has been about how Balogun would fetch £50m and how Spurs and Chelsea were desperate to sign him. It was all a fantasy and reality has finally kicked in. Arsenal have got as good a deal as they were ever going to get and the player is off the books.

    1. Hard to get the 50 million you want when the manager freezes the player out, doesn’t even have him on the bench.

Not the first time we have used this ‘shoot ourself in the foot approach.”

Auba we paid to leave, Barca sold him for a profit.

Wolves offered 20 million for AMN, but Arteta wanted him to stay. Then never played him, froze him out and loaned for 2 years until he leaves on a free.

We are pants at getting value for player sales, remember Wenger and Sanchez?

Our highest sale was Ox? Or was it Iwobi?

Arteta and Edu have just continued this poor run of selling assets.

  6. Fee plus add ons and crucially significant sell on clause makes this a very good piece of business.

Those saying we should have given him a chance (myself included) don’t know whats going on behind the scenes. Also the fact that no Big teams came in for him perhaps says it all . I think the sell on clause allows us to buy him back for a small fee (taking into account what we have already received ) and let’s a good nurturing club like Monaco play him as No 1 centre forward.

As I said very astute piece of business

Separate to that be interested to see if Jesus comes on who he replaces… Eddie or Havertz?
