Talksport pundit urges attacker to snub Arsenal

Former Aston Villa man Gabby Agbonlahor does not think it makes sense for Kaoru Mitoma to move to Arsenal at the end of this season.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the exciting Brighton winger as he shines for the Seagulls.

Brighton and Arsenal have a very good business relationship which has helped the Gunners to add new players to their squad from the South Coast club.

Ben White and Leandro Trossard are two players who have swapped the Amex for the Emirates and some other players could follow them when the term ends.

But Agbonlahor wants Mitoma to spend another season at Brighton before looking for a new club.

He tells Football Insider:

“Mitoma has been excellent, obviously, for Brighton but it’s so different when you go to a top club.

“We’ve seen it so many times with players who can’t do it at the higher level after making the step up.

“Just because you have a good season doesn’t mean you’re instantly going to succeed when you move for £60million or £70million.

“I think Mitoma should stay at Brighton another season and go to the next level because they’re a club on the up.”

Just Arsenal Opinion

Mitoma is such an exciting player and Brighton will struggle to keep him in their group beyond this season.

The attacker is in stunning form for Roberto De Zerbi’s side and will be a superb player to have off the bench at the Emirates.

Regardless of what Agbonlahor thinks, if we do not move to sign him, another club will.

  1. I think Agbonlahor is a Aston Villa legend and supporter. But I am surprised to read of his against Brighton’s winger (left or right winger?) Mitoma possible joining Arsenal next summer transfer window. For, the reason he has given for his anti-Arsenal opinion in this regard, has not sounded convincing to the Arsenal supporters to take or accept it.
Therefore, if Arsenal want to sign Mitoma next summer, they can go ahead to put in bid to Brighton to sign him. But not minding what Agbonlahor’s anti-Arsenal opinion to not sign Mitoma.

  2. What Arsenal may need is not necessarily a winger but a speed monster maybe in the mould of a center forward

  3. I’m sorry but I don’t see Mitoma going anywhere this summer. Arsenal have not won anything yet this season. If they do well and win the league and do well next season I would agree that they are going in the right direction but so are Brighton without spending large amounts on players In Brighton they say that Chelsea are known as Chelsea and Hove Albion by buying Brighton players it appears we could have another Albion in Arsenal

  4. Several rumours – all false IMO – about us being after or that winger. It is plain, or ought to be, that we are NOT in the market for yet more wingers now .

We wil bring in a specialist central striker and a proper DCM this summer though.
What we also need IMO is a proper box to box player and to get our still many lesser players to leave .

I do not see us getting much for all our deadwood and nowhere near the overestimated £105 million, in anotherJA thread today, some of whom are not deadwood at all but players we will not wish to sell.
